Trashed on Fiction

Influenced by the roots-rock of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Neil Young, and The Band, the early country rock of Gram Parsons and their latter-day disciples Wilco, as well as the Midwest alt-rock of the Replacements, Trashed On Fiction synthesizes these bands into classic, but hardly derivative songs. Their multiple tours and strong desire to shake out the apathy of indie rock audiences has added a dose of literary detachment and infused them with the passion and pop edge of the “angry young man” scene from the U.K. (Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, Wrecklesss Eric) in a way that hasn’t been heard before.

After recording and rerecording for the better part of two years in a music store, a kitchen, the back of a van, and two bathrooms, these songs were left with a warm, intimate, lived-in feeling all along still sounding like they could have been recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

These songs are not just about growing older or leaving home or the cavalier hearts of youth.  But they are about the contemplative silence between these experiences and the jubilant debauchery afterwards.

Trashed on Fiction are:

Dave Ruckel – guitar and vocals
Brent Miller – guitar and keyboards
Eric Wendell – bass
Eric Gottlieb – percussion
